Richmond Fellowship in Wakefield welcomes Hannah Moradi as their Peer Support Coordinator. Hannah tells us a bit about her role.

Hello! I am Hannah Moradi and I am the new Peer Support Coordinator at Richmond Fellowship in Wakefield.

Richmond Fellowship is a registered mental health charity that provides support around employment and retention, a drop-in service, a 12 week community programme, one to one support and peer support. We are based at the Gaslight, in Wakefield city centre.

My role involves running the peer hub, helping volunteers with anything they need and facilitating groups that are peer led. At present we are looking to form many new groups and are working alongside Workers’ Educational Association (WEA), Wakefield Distirct Housing (WDH), healthcare trainers and Action for Children to create more avenues to support. The peer support hub is for anyone aged 17 or over who lives in the Wakefield district and there is no need for referral.

The hub offers a range of courses/workshops, some peer support sessions and has many peer-led activity groups. These include the WDH Cashwise programme, the WEA Confidence and Communication course, arts and crafts groups, a guitar group and a writers group. Many new courses will be starting soon and there's also some “taster sessions” on offer.

Hi Hannah and welcome. I am a tutor for the WEA and very much enjoyed working with Simon and some of your service users on the skills for volunteer course. Best wishes for the future.

Hello Jane! Thank you very much. We are looking to continue our work with the WEA and the "skills for volunteer" course seems very interesting! I hope to talk to you soon.
