West Yorkshire Police would like to invite statutory, non-statutory and community and voluntary sector organisations who help and support vulnerable people to attend 'The Abuse of Position for Sexual Purpose' conference. West Yorkshire Police would like to share with you the work it is doing to prevent and seek out this form of serious corruption and to peruse the perpetrators.
|When||Monday 9 July at 9:30am to 1:00pm|
West Yorkshire Police Training Centre Carr Gate Complex
Bradford Road, Wakefield, WF2 0QD (Parking will be available)
Every day, police officers and staff come into contact with members of the public who are often at their most vulnerable. It is very important that all police officers and staff do not seek to take any personal advantage from the position they hold. West Yorkshire Police needs your help to understand how big an issue this is, how it can improve and what the barriers are to reporting your concerns.
The day will include an overview of what the police do at present, case studies, a victims' perspective and identify ways of reporting. West Yorkshire Police wants to help you raise this important issue with the people you support. This is a serious matter and will be dealt with in a sensitive manner. Please register your interest via Eventbrite by 18 June 2018. There will also be BSL interpreters provided.
