LGBT History Month is a month-long annual observance of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender history. This short presentation will cover events and people of interest both globally and locally.

Target Audience:

Professionals who are, or may be, working with LGBT and HIV positive people in the Wakefield District.

Upcoming Course Dates:

Dates are available throughout February. The presentation lasts from 1–2 1/2 hours according to your requirements.


Yorkshire MESMAC is happy to come to you, their office at 12 Cheapside can hold up to about 18 people if you would prefer your team to go to them.

Learning Outcomes:

  • The workshop will bring together practitioners to discuss and better understand the experiences of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender people.
  • To increase awareness of HIV, the impact of HIV stigma and the development of HIV prevention strategies over time.
  • Guidance, strategies and ideas to help practitioners develop their own practice when working with LGB&T and HIV positive people.
