The Wakefield Third Sector Covid Response Fund has been launched by Wakefield and District Health and Community Support (WDHCS), an independent grant making charity in Wakefield.

The funding will provide financial support for community groups, charities and social enterprises, to implement recovery strategies as a response to the impact of Covid-19.Grants will be awarded to organisations who are currently working with people and communities most affected by the pandemic, to enable them to build resilience and continue to adapt and develop their activities and approaches.

Grants are available for individual organisations of £1,000 to £5,000.

Grants are available of up to £15,000 for collaborative bids, where a single organisation has been identified as the lead partner.

WDHCS is also seeking to recruit more trustees to strengthen and diversify their small but dynamic board. They are especially interested to hear from younger people, representatives from BAME communities, and anyone with a background in finance and investment, human resources, health and social care and digital and marketing.
