Funding Information

Grant Round 7 of the Mayor’s Safer Communities Fund, which is making £1 million available to groups and organisations across West Yorkshire, is now open.

This grant round will support projects and interventions which will help deliver the new Police and Crime Plan 2024-28. Consultation on the new Plan ended on 31 October 2024 and has revealed overall support for the draft Plan, its priorities, cross-cutting themes and areas of focus.

Anyone delivering in any part of West Yorkshire across Bradford, Calderdale, Leeds, Kirklees and Wakefield Districts can apply.

The fund will also be open to projects which will deliver the BUILD element of Clear, Hold Build (CHB) in four Home Office pilot areas across West Yorkshire. CHB is a framework designed to improve the local response to tackling serious and organised crime threats, and are inviting projects delivering in BD3 in Bradford, Park Ward in Calderdale, Harehills in Leeds, and Ashbrow in Kirklees to apply. The fund closes at midday on 13 December 2024.

How much can you apply for?

Pot 1 – £15k to £20k

The £15,000 to £20,000 grant will be subject to a specific grant agreement and will require the submission of;

  1. 6-month monitoring form
  2. 12-month monitoring form and;
  3. Final evaluation which will include a case study at the end of the funding period.

Please note a portion of the funding will be paid on award of the grant and the rest will be paid throughout the grant period.

Payment will be agreed on award of the grant.

Pot 2 - £10k or less

Applicants applying for £10,000 or less will have the usual Terms and Conditions.

Previously successful Mayor’s Safer Communities Fund applicants who are still within their 12-month delivery period and/or have not submitted a successful evaluation cannot apply for this pot.

Pot 3 - Collaboration Pot

  • In line with the Commissioning Strategy, the fund are looking to create further opportunities for providers to work and deliver services in collaboration.
  • The Fund have an amazing opportunity for more than one group to work together to apply for more than £20,000, with a maximum of four organisations working together.
  • For example, two groups could apply for a maximum of £40,000.
  • Please note that projects already supporting/delivering other priorities within the Police and Crime Plan will be considered, however projects delivering under Grant Round 5 Pot 1 or Pot 3 will not be eligible as they are currently delivering large or partnership interventions.

The grant pots are flexible.
