VCSE Advocate: Transformation and Delivery Collaborative

In your role, you see how decisions affect our local communities. We want to give you the opportunity to be part of these decisions, using your understanding of the needs and views of communities to make positive change.

Supported by the Local Authority and Health and Care Partnership, Nova is currently recruiting for 2 opportunities available as part of VCSE Voices. This project sees leaders from the Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise (VCSE) sector attend strategic, decision-making meetings across Wakefield District.

This is an exciting opportunity to provide leadership, governance, and specialised advice, being part of collaborative discussions and decision-making processes. As board members, VCSE Advocates will have the opportunity to influence cross-sector working developing services and strategy and improving outcomes for the communities we work with.

About this board

The Wakefield Transformation and Delivery Collaborative is a partnership bringing together public providers of health services, including hospital trusts, GP practices, mental health services, and community providers. The Transformation and Delivery Collaborative work together to agree and deliver plans and services that meet the health and care needs of the population, improving patient outcomes and reducing health inequalities.

The Wakefield Transformation and Delivery Collaborative usually meet monthly with a minimum requirement of nine meetings per year. We ask that interested applicants commit themselves to these meetings but understand that this may not always be possible.

About this role

You will be a VCSE Sector senior leader with excellent understanding of the Wakefield District community sector and ability to effectively communicate critical issues and influence decision making and policy. Please note that you do not have to be a CEO to apply for this role: you may be a volunteer, board member, or work in front-line service delivery. We encourage a range of VCSE leaders with different leadership experience to apply.

The VCSE Advocate will be connected to a provider organisation who offer health and social care services to the Wakefield population and have the potential to contribute to the improvement of patient experience and outcomes and reduce health inequalities.
