Nova co-ordinates the Wakefield District Voluntary Sector Community Safety Network, which is funded by the West Yorkshire Police and Crime Commissioner.

The Network is funded by the West Yorkshire Police and Crime Commissioner. They have funded networks across all five West Yorkshire districts in Leeds, Calderdale, Kirklees, Bradford and Wakefield.

About the Network

The aim of the Community Safety Network is to strengthen links with the Wakefield Community Safety Partnership (CSP), and engage voluntary sector organisations in discussion and sharing information about community safety.

Andy Simms, Community Development Practitioner - Spectrum Community Health CIC, is the sector’s representative on the Wakefield Community Safety Partnership.

The Community Safety Network is facilitated by Nova with support from the voluntary sector CSP representative and is light touch.

Organisations working in Wakefield District with an interest in Community Safety are included in an email circulation list. Any organisation can request to be part of the list and we welcome people to get in touch to share stories, to raise issues, with information to promote to the network or anything that is relevant to community safety in Wakefield District.

To make a request to join the Community Safety Network mailing list please contact Mary Roche at Nova by emailing mary.roche@nova-wd.org.uk.

The Network was launched in October 2016 and is funded until March 2018.
