Are you or people that engage with your organisation struggling with the increased cost of living? Come and talk to advisors at an event near you, they can help see what support you might be entitled to.
Many people experience financial difficulties for different reasons and might not realise that they’re entitled to more help. There are fifteen upcoming events at local venues for anyone who needs help and support.
During the last benefits campaign in November 2021, the households that were found to qualify for increased or new benefits benefitted from £2,000 on average! The Council and partner organisations are repeating the benefits campaign because many families are now struggling due to the increased cost of living and the recent loss of the £20 weekly uplift in Universal Credit.
Changes in household circumstances and changes to eligibility criteria can mean households are entitled to support they aren't aware of, so please share this campaign with anyone that engages with your organisation or come along to events yourself.
The roadshow will run from Monday 9 May to Friday 15 July at venues across the District. At the events, you can talk to advisors if you are:
- Finding it hard to make ends meet
- Finding it difficult to pay your bills
- In rent or mortgage arrears
- In debt or at risk of losing your home
- A carer or have a disability and you are living on low income
- Unemployed or working part-time with reduced income
- In need of energy saving support
- Having difficulty because of the loss of the £20 Universal Credit uplift
Drop in, no appointment needed. The service is completely free and open to everyone. There are free refreshments and an independent benefits check to see what support might be entitled to.
