Coalfields Community Grants England

The Coalfields Community Grants programme in England is aimed at organisations, community groups and social enterprises that can make a positive difference in our communities. The programme is now open for applications and grants are available between £500 and £10,000 (maximum of £5,000 on capital).

The Joseph Rowntree Charitable Trust (JRCT) has recently reviewed its activities, and issued new guidance. As is the trend now, they are focussing on the changes they want grants to make, rather than specifying activities they might fund.
Local mental health services report published

NHS Wakefield Clinical Commissioning Group and Wakefield Council are jointly developing a mental health strategy and as part of this asked for views from members of the public in Wakefield. The feedback and results of the survey have now been published.
David Smith's secondment extended

David Smith is currently on secondment from Voluntary Action Leeds to the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) in Wakefield. After the initial three months the secondment has been extended to the end of December, which is excellent news for the sector.
