Maddy provides the executive leadership for Nova, ensuring the organisation is provided with strong strategic and operational direction. Maddy develops partnerships with statutory and voluntary sector agencies, and contributes to strategic planning for the district.

Julie Baker

Nova Adviser - Community & Enterprise Development

Julie provides tailored development support to voluntary and community organisations to enable organisational growth and quality of service delivery to meet the needs of Wakefield District residents. Julie joined Nova from Pre-school Learning Alliance and has over 20 years experience of working with voluntary and community sector organisations.

Mary Cunningham

Nova Adviser - Community & Enterprise Development

Mary provides tailored development support to voluntary and community organisations to enable organisational growth and quality of service delivery to meet the needs of Wakefield District residents. Mary joined Nova from Leeds Mind where she managed a social prescribing service and has 15 years’ experience of working with public sector and voluntary and community sector organisations.

Natalie Jones

Operations Manager

Natalie manages the general operational functions of Nova, including health and safety, administration, communications, and HR.

George McConnachie

Nova Adviser - Community & Enterprise Development

George's role at Nova involves supporting local hubs and community anchors, particularly around the COVID Test and Trace programmes. Another strand that Nova is looking to develop over coming months is the Funders Forum – led by the National Lottery – which is an attempt to develop capacity within Wakefield District for organisations to bid (successfully!) for some of the larger and longer-term sources of funding. George will be leading on this for Nova. George has been involved with the Third Sector since 2007, working with and managing various organisations.

Mary Roche

Nova Adviser - Community and Enterprise Development

Mary provides tailored development support to voluntary and community organisations to enable organisational growth and quality of service delivery to meet the needs of Wakefield people. Mary joined Nova from Wakefield Council and has a wide range of experience working with the public, private and third sectors in Wakefield District.

Kaylee Thompson

Warwick Ahead Community Engagement Worker

Kaylee provides support to the Warwick Ahead project which is based on the Warwick estate in Knottingley and is one of 150 'Big Local' areas across England. Kaylee's role is to raise awareness of Warwick Ahead Big Local within the community and to build relationships with local people, groups and organisations. This includes supporting and encouraging residents and local groups to take a positive and active role in community life and in Warwick Ahead Big Local, supporting the Partnership with the development and progress of the Community Plan. Kaylee has joined Nova from BARCA Leeds where she was a social prescriber.

Sarah Moverlay-Brown

Finance Manager

Sarah undertakes the finances for the organisation. Before joining Nova, Sarah worked in the voluntary sector for over 13 years undertaking admin and finance work.

Alice Edinburgh

Business Support Officer

Alice assists with the general operational functions of Nova, providing administration, project, and communications support.
