The Castleford Community Paddlesports Club has been formed from activities, canoeing and kayaking in partnership with the Desmond Family Canoe Trail, which is a project of the Canal and River Trust. Members and officers of the club have been volunteering and participating in paddlesports and social action. In September 2019 it started a locally led club aiming to provide accessible paddlesport activities to individuals and groups on the Aire and Calder Navigation at Castleford lock, River Aire and River Calder. Constitution took place with appointed volunteer officers who have adopted the policies and procedures of British Canoeing; several have completed Foundation Rescue and Safety Training and first level Paddlesport Instructor accreditation. The club is working towards affiliation with British Canoeing. The motto of the club, taken from one of the young people benefitting from paddle sessions in the summer, is 'Canoeing and Nature Open to Everyone'.

Catch A Falling Star is a Wakefield based support group for adults aged 18+ who are affected by mental health issues either through suffering with their own mental illness, those with a history of mental health issues or anyone who supports individuals living with mental health conditions. The group aims to bring people together so that they can meet with like-minded people with a mutual respect and understanding for those affected by issues surrounding mental health. The group aims to help people develop their support network and learn new skills and ways of coping from others in a creative way. The group meets fortnightly on a Wednesday (excluding school holidays).

We are based in Leeds and for the last twenty years have employed people with learning disabilities to work for the human rights of all people with learning disabilities. We campaign, run projects and research issues that affect the lives of people with learning disabilities. We deliver training to professionals and people with learning disabilities and we produce high quality Accessible Information in easy words and pictures to empower vulnerable adults to make choices about the issues that affect them. CHANGE has a co-working model of employment. This means that people with learning disabilities are employed to co-lead on all of our projects alongside non learning disabled colleagues. Both are paid an equal salary.

Children of Normanton Support Team


Children of Normanton Support Team (C.O.N.S.T.) runs a children's activity group for under privileged children, ages ranging from 5 to 16 years of age. The group comprises of multi sports and arts and crafts activities. C.O.N.S.T. also assists the children to achieve their first aid certificates, Kwik cricket certificates on all levels and young leader's certificate in sport. C.O.N.S.T is currently working towards its energy club certification.

CAP DEBT HELP: CAP's debt help is tailored to help financially and socially disadvantaged people out of debt. The combination of face-to-face home visits, a befriending service and CAP's in-depth debt counselling empowers individuals who are struggling or have complex needs to work themselves out of debt. CAP JOB CLUB: CAP Job Club allows jobseekers to face this challenge with other people in similar situations. They also receive practical and tailored support through one-to-one coaching and the eight session Steps to Employment course, which takes them through each step of the job hunting process. CAP RELEASE GROUP: These groups offer support to anyone with life controlling issues. Whatever it is people are struggling with, the groups provide a safe and confidential place where they can tackle the issue right at the core to break free and stay free.
