ECHO Community Programme


ECHO (Every Child Has Options) is a Community Interest Company. The provision is available for all, from the very young to the very old making the offer a completely inclusive one. The provision allows all who attend the opportunity to access services after school/working hours. It is delivered from two venues in the heart of the community, Ash Grove Medical Centre and Ferrybridge Medical Centre. It operates an open door, drop in facility that is accessible to all between the hours of 4pm to 6pm two evenings a week, and from July 2019 it will be open on a Saturday morning. Anyone from the community can access the provision and gain support/advice from a team of professionals.

Its partnerships with Wakefield Council, StreetGames, Rugby League Cares, The Children’s First Hub, West Yorkshire Police, Primary Schools and Secondary Schools in the local area continues to grow, with over 300 children and young people from across the city attending evening and weekend sessions each week. Elite Community Sports Coaching CIC uses sport, dance and other enrichment activities as a tool to enhance the lives of young people through improving physical and mental health, mentoring them to increase confidence, raise aspirations, and for some groups, divert them away from antisocial behaviour and crime.
