Support is available to any family who is experiencing stress or difficulty and who has at least one child under the age of 12 years. Home-Start Wakefield & District supports families who may be dealing with issues such as isolation, emotional health and relationship problems. Its Giving Back project supports families with children 5-12 years to improve parenting and coping skills to help them manage behaviour, support their children's learning and develop healthy lifestyles. It also offers support in family groups where parents can get out and meet others. These are informal groups where parents can come together and where children can play and interact with other children.

All food is donated and clients are referred by referrers working within the community using a voucher system. It covers Knottingley and surrounding area, extending to Hemsworth and Castleford.

Livability York House Ossett is a residential service home for 20 adults with physical and intellectual disabilities, including some with complex needs. Friends of York House organises events to raise funds to build on what's good and improve the wellbeing of residents.
