The events include brass band concerts, Clarence Park festival, and other concerts held at the Bandstand, Clarence Park in Wakefield. It also presents a four day Blues Festival in Wakefield city centre. It also has campaigned and raised funds to restore the Bandstand in Clarence Park.

Theatre Royal Wakefield's mission is: To develop new creative opportunities and experiences both within the theatre building, throughout the wider community and on tour, encouraging high quality engagement across a broad sector of the Performing Arts. It has a programme which is engaging and accessible to the local community and which maintains its reputation as a leading producing and receiving house. Theatre Royal Wakefield's own produced work includes its Pantomime and Wakefield Youth Music Theatre productions, alongside producing the work of its Creative Director, John Godber OBE. Theatre Royal Wakefield runs a busy learning and participation programme that encourages diverse engagement in the arts, working across a number of groups including young people, young people with a learning disability, socially isolated older people and refugees and asylum seekers, its work improves wellbeing and breaks down social barriers.
