  • Individual applicants must be able to attend all four dates: 4, 11, 18, 25 November from 9.15am to 12.30pm
  • There is another set of dates only open to the Minority Ethnic Community: 18 September, 25 September, 2 October, 9 October from 9.15am to 12.30pm

Most of us use coaching skills and approaches every day. Growing evidence suggests effective coaching skills contribute to personal wellbeing, innovation, care outcomes, teamworking and leadership effectiveness. Despite pressures and constraints in the care sector investment in coaching has grown reflecting the value of more person-centred approaches that create ownership, engagement and meaningful accomplishment. During the pandemic staff and volunteers accessing coaching have demonstrated maintenance or improvements in wellbeing compared to those who have not. These sessions are open to all staff and volunteers and are designed to help participants improve their use of coaching skills in everyday conversations that matter.

West Yorkshire HCP Mental Health and Wellbeing Hub know that currently the voluntary sector and staff from minority ethnic communities or global majority communities are underrepresented within coaching. They are particularly keen to receive applications from individuals that come from these sectors and backgrounds. As far as possible they plan to dedicate at least one learning cohort to be exclusively for people from a minority ethnic community for those that would prefer a dedicated learning space. All other cohorts will be open to everyone. On enrolment, if you are from a minority ethnic background, please state your preferred learning environment and West Yorkshire HCP will try to accommodate your preference.

Open to anyone. No previous experience in coaching needed.

As part of the training you will have the opportunity to engage in a 1-to-1 coaching session arranged at a mutually convenient time.

Effective teamworking is a journey not a destination and it’s ajourney worth investing in. Effective teams deliver better and safer care, theyadapt to change. Their members are valued for their contribution and experiencehigher levels of wellbeing. Today’s context creates additional challenges forteams and their members including virtual working, boundary management, communication and decision making. In complex and overwhelming environmentsteam members face risks of reduced wellbeing, resilience and burnout.
