Funding Information

Groundwork is working with the West Yorkshire Combined Authority to deliver Community Grants, a programme designed to support unemployed and/or economically inactive people with complex barriers to move towards employment, and digital inclusion.

Projects should support people who struggle to engage with mainstream provision, including those who are ‘socially excluded’ (e.g. those with long term health problems, over 50’s, single parents, refugees). The programme will offer grants of between £15,000 and £20,000 from a pot of £2.8 million to about 90-100 voluntary, community and social enterprise groups across West Yorkshire. The scheme is looking for a wide range of innovative and new activities.

The scheme is expected to open on 7 May 2024 for applications with rolling grant panels meeting fortnightly. Successful projects will be expected to start quickly and complete delivery by December 2024.

The fund’s staff will support applicants throughout the project’s delivery and can give you advice on your application. Full details will be available soon at West Yorkshire Combined Authority Community Grants - Groundwork and you can register your interest now to receive updated information or email Peter Murphy, Operations Director at Groundwork to find out more or ask specific questions Peter.Murphy@GROUNDWORK.ORG.UK

You can attend any one of the in person events being delivered throughout West Yorkshire.

  • Wakefield: 3 May, 10am to 12pm at St Swithun's Community Centre, Arncliffe Road, Wakefield, WF1 4RR
