Leeds Survivor Led Crisis Service (LSLCS) is a nationally recognised survivor-led organisation. They provide out-of-hours services to people in acute mental health crisis, who may otherwise end up in psychiatric services, A&E, or other crisis and emergency provision. Their flagship service (Dial House) has been running since 1999. This is a great opportunity to join a highly regarded, multi award winning mental health charity, which provides an alternative, non-medical approach to mental distress.
LSLCS are seeking casual workers who can work across one or both of the following services to provide cover for annual leave, sickness and other short-term absence:
Dial House: Friday, Saturday & Sunday (5:30pm-1:30am) – Casual Workers
Dial House at Touchstone: Tuesday & Thursday (5:30pm – 12.30am) – Casual Workers.
Please note this post is subject to a Genuine Occupational Requirement, as all staff who work at Dial House @ Touchstone must identify as being from a diverse community.
As LSLCS isa survivor-led organisation, personal experience of emotional distress is essential. LSLCS aspires to create a working environment that celebrates diversity and promotes inclusive practice and applications for these posts would be particularly welcome from colleagues from diverse cross-cultural communities, who may be under-represented in their workforce (e.g.) Black, Asian and Ethnic heritage groups, members of the LGBTQIA+ community, and individuals with a disability.
For an informal discussion about the posts, please contact Aimee Megson and/or Carol Gatewood, Adult Services Managers, at carol.gatewood@lslcs.org.uk or aimee.megson@lslcs.org.uk or on 0113 260 9328.
