The Community Investment Gateway has just opened a brilliant funding opportunity for VCSE organisations working in Wakefield District.

Wakefield and District Safeguarding Adults Board Small Grants will support locally-rooted Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise (VCSE) organisations who work with seldom heard groups - underrepresented adults who are less likely to be heard by practitioners and decision makers at services, or face barriers to accessing support.

Grants are designed to be used flexibly and funding is available for charities, community groups and social enterprises to:

  • start a new activity/project
  • continue to deliver existing work
  • increase your capacity to deliver existing work

These grants are funded by The Wakefield and District Safeguarding Adults Board (WDSAB). WDSAB is a multiagency partnership responsible for ensuring that adults at risk of abuse and/or neglect are supported, listened to, engaged and empowered to live safe and well lives. One of the Board's priorities is to establish a grants scheme to support projects and organisations working with seldom heard groups, and funding is being channelled through the Gateway.
