Information about

Connecting Wakefield: Netwalking

You’re invited to the next Connecting Wakefield meeting – our first ‘netwalking’ session where you can network, share ideas, and enjoy a refreshing walk through Wakefield’s green spaces.

Free and open to anyone from a charity, community group or social enterprise in Wakefield District.

What to expect

The plan is to walk around the parks to visit the best bits, giving you plenty of time to chat and boost your creative thinking (researchers have found that walking does this!).

We encourage you to bring an idea, problem or project to work through as you walk – and let your brain do the rest.

You’ll split into pairs or small groups for the session to give each person chance to talk through their work as you walk and hopefully leave with some solutions or options by the end of the session.

The walk will start at 9.30am from lower car park (Holmfield Arms entrance) and last for around 1 hour. It’s a circular route of about 3km around Clarence, Holmfield and Thornes Parks. After this, we’ll return to the start for light refreshments and more time to network.

The parks are close to the city centre and can be reached by car, public transport or walking. There is parking available.

What you’ll need

  • Clothing appropriate for the British weather
  • Water
  • Sturdy / comfortable footwear
