Working Together - A Shared Responsibility
This full day course is aimed at multi-agency practitioners from health, education, police, social care, early help and the voluntary sector who work with children and families and who need to refer to, and work with other agencies to safeguard children.
Attendees must complete the WSCP Safeguarding Children Basic Awareness course or an equivalent level of learning in safeguarding children.
Course Highlights
- Have an increased knowledge and case studies of what working together looks like and how agencies can best achieve this
- Identify your own and other agencies roles and responsibilities in relation to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
- Identify the key sources of government legislation and local guidance that directly relate to safeguarding children and the promotion of their welfare
- Know how and where to access support for children and families in the Wakefield District
- Have an awareness of the learning from recent safeguarding children audits and practice reviews
- Understand what a good assessment looks like
- Know how to make a good safeguarding contact and referral
