Wakefield Council offering shops in Wakefield and Castleford grants to make security improvements. This scheme aims to discourage break-ins and anti-social behaviour to create safer communities.
The UK government is funding this scheme through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund.
You can apply for a grant of up to 80% of the total cost of security improvements. The most you can receive is £6,000 (net of VAT).
Your scheme must cost at least £5,000 (net of VAT) to be eligible. Grants are subject to approval.

Due to high levels of interest in this scheme, its maximum funding limit has now been reached.
It is possible that in some cases, applicants who have successfully applied for grants may not be able to meet the necessary criteria, in which case any offers will be withdrawn, and this funding will once more become available.
Therefore, any expressions of interest received after 25 September 2024 will be put on a waitlist and will be considered on a case-by-case basis should unclaimed grants become available.
