Funding Information

The Movement Fund provides crowdfunding pledges, grants and support to help projects that get more people active.

If you're eligible and your project aligns with our goals, you could receive up to £15,000 to cover a wide range of costs and items that'll help deliver positive change in your community.

If you've an idea to tackle inequalities and help get more people active, Sport England want to hear from you.

Before applying, please read the funding guidance. It explains who Sport England are looking to support, the kinds of projects they're interested in, what information you'll need to provide and the help they can offer.

Applicants must meet the fund aims of:

  • encouraging positive experiences of sport and physicalactivity  
  • involving the community in planning and delivery  
  • prioritising environmental sustainability  
  • a good use of public money

General eligibility criteria for the Movement Fund include: 

  • An organisation working with people living in England 
  • An organisation being not-for-profit 
  • An organisation not being based on investment in equipment or facilities for football-only projects (these organisations should instead apply to the Football Foundation)

Grants available for UK-based Charities/Charitable Incorporated Organisations (CIOs) working with vulnerable children and young adults, especially those at risk of sexual and other forms of exploitation.

Austin and Hope Pilkington Trust Grants

Grants for UK-registered charities for projects supporting people experiencing or at risk of homelessness. Projects should provide life skills, including food education, healthy living and budgeting.
