Level 2 Youth Worker

Youth Worker

The Youth Association (TYA) is one of the oldest and most innovative youth work charities in the UK. Since 1904, the charity has been creating opportunities for young people to achieve their potential, raise their aspirations, and improve their physical, mental and emotional wellbeing. TYA's mission is to grow Yorkshire's future by helping young people build confidence, identify and achieve their goals, access education, employment and enterprise opportunities, and develop meaningful social connections.

TYA is seeking experienced and passionate Youth Workers to join its team and deliver high-quality youth work programmes across South and West Yorkshire.

Working alongside Lead Youth Workers, Senior Youth Workers and Youth Support Workers, the successful candidate will play a key role in planning, delivering and evaluating youth work sessions in a range of settings, including community venues, educational institutions and detached youth work environments. The role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference to the lives of young people while contributing to innovative and impactful youth work practice.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, deliver and evaluate youth work sessions across a range of settings.
  • Lead youth work activities independently or alongside Youth Support Workers and volunteers.
  • Build positive, professional relationships with young people and act as a positive role model.
  • Support young people’s personal, social and emotional development through meaningful engagement and participation.
  • Develop creative activities and resources that respond to the needs and interests of young people.
  • Contribute to project monitoring, evaluation and reporting.
  • Promote youth voice and encourage young people to influence decisions affecting them.
  • Maintain high standards of safeguarding, health and safety, and professional practice.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, partner organisations and local communities.
  • Undertake ongoing professional development and contribute to a positive team culture.

About the Role

Applicants should have experience of front-line youth work delivery and hold a JNC-recognised Youth Work qualification at Level 3 or above. The role requires flexibility, including evening and occasional weekend work.

This post is subject to an Enhanced DBS check.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced youth work practitioner who is committed to empowering young people, championing their voices, and supporting them to achieve their full potential.
