Wakefield District’s Community Investment Gateway launched in November.

It’s the new name for the Third Sector Framework, which over the past four years has awarded over £3.5 million to charities, community groups, and social enterprises working in the district.

At Nova, we believe that funding for Wakefield District’s Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise (VCSE) sector should be equitable and empower local organisations.

The Gateway provides a fair and transparent way of doing this, and we're proud to support it as a partner in this work.

What's new?

The relaunch includes the introduction of new branding and a website.

These developments will give renewed focus to how the Voluntary, Community and Social Enteprise (VCSE) sector is funded and we'll be using the opportunity to raise awareness of this direct route to trusted VCSE providers, including smaller groups who work at a hyper-local level. This includes the opportunity to use the Gateway to ‘Keep It Local’ and coproduce services.

The Nova Team were thrilled to speak at the launch event and show our support for the Gateway.

Find Funding

Organisations can apply to join the 140 Gateway Members.

It’s free of charge and once accepted onto the Gateway, members are eligible to apply for the funding we channel. Because members have been through our application process and provided a lot of standard information, applying for funding is straightforward as we don’t ask you to repeat the same questions for every new opportunity. Our members find this reduces the time burden considerably.

Invest in Wakefield District

The Gateway provides a direct route to trusted VCSE providers. It offers value to funders and investors through:

  • Reduced administrative burden and specialist support
