Information about
NAPAC and Adult Survivors of Childhood Abuse: Awareness, Impact and Support
These online regional awareness sessions will introduce professionals and survivor-facing organisations to NAPAC and the specialist, free and anonymous support provided to adult survivors of childhood abuse. The sessions will increase understanding of the long-term impact of childhood abuse in adulthood and the ways this may present across health, mental health, housing and community settings.
Participants will gain an overview of NAPAC’s services, including the national support line, email and online resources and how these can complement existing statutory and voluntary provision. The sessions will focus on recognising indicators of need, responding in a trauma-informed way and confidently signposting survivors to safe, appropriate support.
Designed for professionals working in GP practices, CMHTs, charities, housing teams, VAWG organisations and lived-experience networks, the sessions will strengthen local pathways, reduce barriers to access and ensure more survivors are aware of and able to reach specialist support when they need it.
