What the fund is about: The Building Healthy and Sustainable Communities fund supports and develops community initiatives in areas where there are poorer healthcare outcomes. For this 3-year funding, the specific area was Wakefield City Centre including Portobello, Belle Vue and Agbrigg. Grants were available for VCSE work that improves health and wellbeing, connects with communities and reduces health inequalities. Funding was awarded to organisations well placed to support those most likely to experience health inequalities.
