Funding Information

WACCL (Wakefield Annual Charity Christmas Lunch) is a fundraising initiative led by a dedicated group of local business people, created to support charities working with children and young people across the Wakefield district.

To be considered for funding you must meet all the below criteria:

  • Be a charity or organisation that directly supports children and or young people. (Defined as babies up to young people aged 25)
  • Be based in the Wakefield district or explain how the money would be used to specifically benefit young people in the Wakefield district
  • Successful applications will be able to send at least one paying guest to the lunch on the 10th December 2026 and potentially be able to speak about the charity or supply a short video to play on the day
  • Explain to us what the funds would be used for and, if possible, detail a specific project that could benefit from the support

WACCL are particularly interested in supporting organisations that:

  • Are small, grass roots organisations who directly support children in the Wakefield District with an annual income of under £250,000
  • Haven’t received WACCL funding before.

Organisations can apply for any amount. As a guide, amounts awarded at WACCL last year were between £2,000 - £5,000.
