Would you like to help shape this upcoming funding opportunity?
The Third Sector Framework is excited to announce new, upcoming funding that will be channelled through our fair and transparent process. They anticipate this will be launched in January 2026.
About the funding
The Wakefield and District Safeguarding Adults Board is planning to offer small, flexible grants to support grassroots organisations who are working with seldom heard groups in Wakefield District. This includes, but is not limited to:
- Homeless people
- People with alcohol or drug dependency
- Unpaid carers
- People with disabilities, including learning disability, neurodivergence or a mental health condition
- Refugees and asylum seekers
- LGBTQ+ people
- People in prison
- Gypsy, Roma and traveller communities
- People who do not speak English as their main language
The grants are aligned to the Wakefield and District Safeguarding Adults Board’s ambition to ensure that adults at risk of abuse and/or neglect are supported, listened to, engaged and empowered to live safely as they want to live.
This grant funding must be used to support services or projects that promote the following objectives:
- Empowerment: remove barriers and promote inclusion to accessingservices and support
- Prevention: promote safety and wellbeing of adults at riskand/or in vulnerable situations
- Protection: enhance awareness and confidence around reporting ordisclosing abuse/neglect
Who will be eligible to apply for this funding?
All Tier 3 Third Sector Framework member organisations will be eligible to apply for these grants when they launch early in 2026. This is in line with the Wakefield and District Safeguarding Adults Board’s objective of supporting smaller organisations who might not otherwise have opportunities to influence the Board and contribute to its work.
Non-member organisations who have an annual income below £25,000 and who are eligible for Framework membership will be able to apply for the grants providing they meet all the criteria and are committed to applying for the Framework alongside their funding application.
Who is the engagement session for?
Our engagement session will take place on Tuesday 2 December, 11am to 12.30pm (online on Microsoft Teams).
Please note that whilst the funding will be for smaller, Tier 3 organisations, the engagement session is for all who are interested in contributing to the development of this funding opportunity and who would like the chance to offer their feedback. It doesn’t matter if your organisation is a Tier 1 or 2 Framework member, or if you are not yet a member– all are welcome to the session. What will theengagement session involve?
What will theengagement session involve?
The Safeguarding Adults Board and Third Sector Framework teams will give a short presentation, outlining basic information about this funding and how we envisage it could work.
The rest of the 1.5-hour session will be spent answering your questions and gathering your feedback in a variety of ways. This may involve breakout groups, polls and quick surveys, depending on numbers. The information collected will help us consider how to finalise this opportunity within the scope of the fund.
Pleasenote that registration is limited to one person per organisation.
