Information Webinar on The King’s Award for Voluntary Service
The King's Award for Voluntary Service is the highest award given to local volunteer groups across the UK to recognise outstanding work done in their own communities. It is the MBE for volunteer groups. Have you thought about seeking or making a nomination? If your group, or one you know, is truly outstanding, making a difference to your local community, and driven mostly by volunteers, then they may be eligible.
The West Yorkshire Lieutenancy will be running an online information webinar about the awards on Monday, 1 September, 4.00-5.00pm. Angela Monaghan DL will explain the award nomination process, Kate France, Founder & Operations Trustee of Uniform Exchange Charity, will talk about their experience in being nominated and what it meant to receive the award, and West Yorkshire Lord Lieutenant, Ed Anderson, will be available in person to answer your questions.
Award nominations open 1 September and close on 1 December 2025 and more information can be found at https://kavs.dcms.gov.uk/
This workshop is hosted by VAC but is open to groups from across West Yorkshire.
