Introduction to Sport England's Movement Fund

Yorkshire Sport Foundation is hosting two one-hour webinars on 21 July for clubs, groups and organisations who would like more information and advice on applying for Sport England's Movement Fund in South Yorkshire and West Yorkshire.

This funding is to help get more people involved in physical activity in the community. Projects can run for up to 12 months and grants are available from £300 to £15,000. You'll be joined on the call by Becky Evans, Investment Advisor at Sport England./

Yorkshire Sport Foundation welcome not-for-profit groups to attend, especially those who wouldn't normally access this funding and have project ideas including:

  • People living on low incomes
  • disabled people or those with long-term health conditions
  • older people
  • people from culturally diverse communities
  • pregnant women and parents with very young children
  • girls aged 5-16
  • LGBTQ+ people
  • people who are in foster care
  • people who provide care without pay.

You can apply for projects to get more people active, like:

1. Setting up new experiences or activity sessions for people to get involved.
2. Helping improve, or create new spaces for people to be active in – or providing the equipment they need to do the activity.
3. Improving both environmental sustainability and providing physical activity opportunities.
4. Supporting organisations to build their capacity and capability so they can help the people in their community to be active.
5. Responding to emergencies that impact on people taking part in physical activity, and helping get activity happening again.
