Sports Development Officer

Disability Sport Yorkshire are passionate about creating opportunities for disabled people to lead active, healthy lives. They're looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join their team and help deliver the exciting Breaking Boundaries project.

Funded by the National Lottery Community Fund, Breaking Boundaries is a five-year programme focused on creating a more inclusive sporting landscape across Yorkshire.

What you'll be doing

As part of the team, working alongside Sports Development Officers, you'll help develop and deliver a range of exciting projects, including:

Sporting Futures Employability Programme

Working alongside professional rugby and football clubs to support people into volunteering, training and employment opportunities.

Inclusive School Physical Activity

Supporting schools to provide engaging and inclusive physical activity opportunities for children and young people.

Activ8 Community Events

Planning and delivering inclusive community sports events that encourage disabled people of all ages to get active.

Club Development & Training

Supporting sports clubs and organisations to become more inclusive through training, guidance and practical support.

About You

Disability Sport Yorkshire are looking for someone who:

  • Is passionate about making sport and physical activity accessible for everyone.
  • Has experience working within sport, physical activity, leisure or community development.
  • Has excellent organisational and project delivery skills.
  • Enjoys building relationships with partners, participants and communities.
  • Is proactive, enthusiastic and committed to making a positive impact.
