Does your group or organisation want to make a long-term difference to the health and happiness of your community? Walking, wheeling and cycling are all proven ways to empower people to improve their quality of life.
West Yorkshire Combined Authority are offering grants of up to £50,000 for community organisations to become walking and cycling hubs, delivering services to get people walking, wheeling and cycling in your local area.
There’s also an online workshop to help you write a strong application.
You can apply for a grant if you are a social enterprise, registered charity, community interest company, or private limited by guarantee company registered or constituted in the UK.
Each group has received up to £50,000 to become a community walking and cycling hub. These are “one-stop-shops” for people to access the support they need to walk and cycle, including advice on routes, equipment, training and group activities.
As places for everyone, the hubs are an inclusive, welcoming space for people who want to be more active and meet new people.
A track record of delivering active travel engagement work is not essential. To be eligible for our funding, it is enough that you and your organisation are committed to developing active travel participation in your area.
The Combined Authority would welcome applications from two or more organisations working collaboratively, and this may include a local authority.
This programme is for small local charities and CICs which are led by and working with people who are experiencing economic inequity because of their race or ethnicity.
Large grants are available for not-for-profit organisations that are looking to improve a built or natural environment of regional or national significance and located within 15 miles of a Biffa site.
