Information about

Focused introduction to Coaching for staff and volunteers from Minority Ethnic Communities

Most of us use some coaching skills and approaches every day in conversations that enable others. Growing evidence shows effective coaching skills can have a real impact on personal wellbeing, innovation, care outcomes, teamworking and leadership effectiveness. It takes no extra time but is a different approach to having great conversations. The WY Mental Health and Wellbeing Hub has run this programme since 2021 and all participants have consistently provided highly positive feedback! Who is the session for?

This offer is free for staff and volunteers across West Yorkshire who identify as being Ethnically Diverse and who care for the health, wellbeing, and social needs of people in our local communities.

Why should I attend?

Staff from Minority Ethnic communities or Global Majority communities are underrepresented within coaching. Feedback indicates staff from ethnic minorities are less likely to access coaching for a variety of reasons.

This one-day workshop is for you if you would like to explore an introduction to coaching with others from a minority ethnic background and discuss how coaching may fit in with different religious and cultural values.

As part of the training, you will also have the option to engage in a 1-to-1 coaching session arranged at a mutually convenient time.

There are two other courses on offer as part of this programme:

Individual coaching skills training (4 x half day sessions):

Coaching for teamworking (3 x half day sessions):
